Who We Are
Craft Out Loud is a joint venture of Jennifer Perkins and Vickie Howell, two leaders in this generation’s craft revolution. Their combined experience includes: starring in 3 network television series (Knitty Gritty, Craft Lab and Stylelicious); running successful craft-based businesses (Naughty Secretary Club and Vickie Howell, Inc.); co-founding a well-known female-driven craft movement (Austin Craft Mafia); numerous “expert” guest appearances in person and on TV and radio in both the states and abroad; writing 5 books and 2 regular magazine columns; contributing to some of the largest publications in the industry; producing a nationally renowned fashion show and craft bazaar (STITCH); hosting and producing a top-rated iTunes hobbies podcast (CRL: with Vickie Howell); having a strong presence in both the MySpace and blog communities; and working closely with both major corporations and indie businesses on everything from marketing to trend reporting. Their international recognition is largely due to an in-depth knowledge of grass-roots publicity and pop-culture, as well as consistent emersion in the conscience of the independent minded do-it yourselfer. Their experiences in both the small and large marketplace give them a unique perspective that lends to bridging the gap between mainstream and specialized sensibilities.
